Ryanne turns 2 years old!
We had great day on Friday celebrating Ryanne's 2nd birthday. Her daddy took the day off of work, a birthday tradition we hope to continue. We ran some errands in the morning, chatted with Aunt Jen from London and got to open up her new apron and cookbook. Thanks Aunt Jen!!! After nap time, we got to open more pressies and talk to more of her family to thank them for the gifts! Thanks Mimi and Poppy for the new kitchen! Ryanne got to help her dad "build" it with her tools. We started cooking instantly. Thanks Mare Bear for the cd player Einstein's cd. Ryanne's favorite song is "here we go around the mulberry bush"..she plays it about 100,000 times in a row- oh goodie! Ryanne says thanks for all the cards and calls and attention that day..Aunt Lee and Uncle John got to sing Happy Birthday too...That's when I served the VERY homemade birthday cake..the frosting was melting off the lop sided cakes...but it was quite delicious. What else does a 2 yr old need? Just an Elmo music book from her sister Finley, and a box of plastic food from her mom and dad to go with her kitchen and an adorable birthday card from her Godfather Brian. Life is good when your 2, unless its bedtime and all you want to do is play with your new toys.

Flibbley Flips!

Big News!! Finley turned over today for the first time! As Eric would say "SUCCESS"!!
I got an action shot just in time... Ryanne also turned at precisely the same age..2 1/2 months. Fin turned while doing tummy time this morning, so I am sure her big noggin helped her over. She did it numerous times, so I know it wasn't a hoax. =) Go Finley!! Next we will work on back to belly turning...certainly a much harder skill. Oh yeah, and also bottles...
Here is a family photo a friend shared with me. This was taken during the Christmas tree lighting ceremony in small town Snoqualmie. It was insanely cold but worth it for the free cookies for daddy and Ryanne.
Ryanne and I have been gearing up for her big day tomorrow! We have been talking about her birthday for weeks. This morning she wanted to have a pretend tea party and she made little pieces of birthday cake for each of us. Of course before we ate our "cake" we had to tap them together and say "Cheers".

Finley...a two-five
Finley is practicing lots of tummy time daily, loves taking a bath, eats a lot, naps in her swing during the day and is a happy baby most of the time, until the bewitching evening hours....and then she is pretty much attached to me until late night. She loves to bounce or be walked around to look at lights. She hates her car seat and won’t take a bottle or pacifier. Working on that….
These are a couple of recent shots of Finley at 2.5 months. Her hair is still fairly dark brown and her eyes are blue-ish with some hazel I think. I can see bits of her sister Ryanne in her face and expressions in some photos...She also smiles when she sees her mom and dad...it’s so cute.

haircut for RAS

...so we were just eating dinner, and Finley sneezed. Ryanne turned to her and said "bless you". I guess it's worth repeating things 100 million times, because eventually, they get it. It was really cute. I actually had a big accomplishment today by multitasking: breastfeeding, standing up and peeling a cucumber all at once. Please do not try to imagine it, although your imagination may be more graceful. Today was the first snow of the season. It was gorgeous. Just a light dusting that was gone by the end of the day, but it made me even more excited for the celebrations just ahead. While expressing my excitement, Eric recently reminded me how I felt about the snow last March and April...yes it was still snowing in Snoqualmie. Ill enjoy the warm fuzzies while I can... Ryanne got another haircut today. She has an actual style now, and its adorable!

it's about time....
so, i should have started this 2 years ago when Ryanne was born. Now there are just way too many adorable things that happen not to share with the world. Now that Finley has arrived, the universe must know how great our kids really are. enjoy.
