Looks and feels and smells and tastes like summer...

Recently we added a new twist to the nap time routine for Ryanne..Instead of me reading her a story, I cover up the words in the books and she is making up stories based on the pictures..She is imaginative, loves to come up with quirky names for characters but also remembers some of what the book actually says and can work that into her stories. Its quite fun to listen to her. After a while she gets overwhelmed with performance pressure and quits. Its not easy being a kid. All that imagination allows her to improvise rhymes and songs too. She ends lots of her nursery rhymes songs with a long ending note.."farmer in the deeeeellllllllllll", and then she bows and says "thank you, thank you, thank you"....I'll have to work on teaching her a curtsy..

We met another little girl at the park named Ryan. They played well together...it seems like Ryanne is getting a little bit more social these days instead of parallel playing with other kids. We have also met little boys named Ryan, which we knew would happen. She actually asked me to stay over on the side of the park while she interacts with other kids....really? so soon?

Finley had her 10 month check up this month. Here are her most recent stats:
Weight: 19.5 lbs (25-50%)
Length: 29.5 in (95%)
Head: 18.25 in (90%)

Ok, so she is an adorable long and lean bobble-head. I told her to enjoy the speedy metabolism while she can...I think that fact that Finley demands so much attention shows Ryanne that she too can demand just as much. That includes both positive and negative attention....she really knows how to turn on the charm when she needs to.

She talks about her dad alot while he is away at work. At breakfast the other day she said "daddy loves his daughters, we are special girls" and later I picked an eyelash off her face and told her to make a wish and she said "i wish for daddy"....I think it brings out a single tear from Eric when i tell him these things.

A quick interview of Ryanne today:

Favorite show: "Buzz Lightyear"
(even though that doesn't make sense)
